"O! for a horse with wings!" - William Shakespeare
First off I'm going to blame most of the neglect to my poor blog on the sad state of technology in this part of the world (of course! always the best excuse...) and mostly being so darn busy!
Seriously though my internet has been having lots of problems as of late, but I sort of have connection now (bit dodgy sometimes, but its better than nothing right?)
Anyhow, enough excuses, I am here now and updating! So...
How's Gracie you may ask?
Well, she is going great!
She is still a little flighty and a bit suspicious of ropes and halters and she is still totally free spirited, but finally she is really beginning to calm down now. And she is such a sweetie! and has the most beautiful temperament... perhaps a little mischievous sometimes, but I haven't known a youngster who wasn't! She is going to be a beautiful horse when she matures. I have probably mentioned all this before, but I could dote on the little darling all day if you gave me the chance ;)
Oh, and another adorable thing about her is that she absolutely loves listening to music! Its kinda cute watching her standing there with her funny little ears all pricked up, you can almost see her look of fascination on her face as she wonders about these strange human creatures and their magic music boxes! ha!
We have been doing a bit of work with tarps and tires and lots of other scary stuff to get her on the way to becoming bombproof-it is taking time, but I can see little by little that it is paying off.
I found a quote the other day by Ray Hunt that jumped out at me "You get out of the horse what you put in — the way you put it in." I can tell you, this is a wonderful little pearl of wisdom!
Well that's it for now!
But this time I promise that I will (try) updating more regularly from now on.
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy the pictures!
And please feel free to leave a comment :)
Oh, yes! Gracie has also been the inspiration of some of my artwork. Putting wings on her just seems to fit don't you think? *sighs dreamily*
